Welcome! A note from Adam…

Dear Neighbor,

My name is Adam Thomas and I am honored to be your State Representative. Thank you for visiting the website and learning more about my reasons for running for a second term.

I have called this area home for most of my life – Olathe is where I went to school, where I met my amazing and supportive wife Kristin, and where we have chosen to raise our family. During my life, our community has grown and our values have remained strong. Olathe, Overland Park, and Spring Hill deserve a representative who understands these values serving them in Topeka. 

My focus is on the future – and that starts with listening, and encouraging consistent citizen engagement. We must not be afraid to examine everything we are doing, and not simply answer, “That’s the way it’s always been done.” We need to ensure government is not getting involved in areas it should not. We need our schools to be strong, with dollars focused towards the classroom. We need a robust economy that produces jobs, and that can only occur if our businesses can expand and hire new people.

We also need to be able to sit down and discuss issues without the rhetoric we see coming from some at the national level. Kansas can set the example for how our leaders can govern. Respect, humility, and an appreciation for those who may have differing opinions. Everyone deserves a seat at the table.
